NAC’s helicopter maintenance facility at Rand Airport undertakes complete factory authorised maintenance and overhaul services for Bell and Robinson helicopters positioning NAC to provide a full range of world class overhaul, repair and maintenance services.
National Airways Corporation (NAC) Rand airport facility is the only Bell Customer Service Facility (CSF) in Sub Saharan Africa and the only Rolls Royce Model 250 engine Authorised Maintenance Centre in Africa.

With the opening last year of NAC’s new privately owned heliport in Midrand, it has never been more convenient for Gauteng residents to obtain their helicopter pilot licenses. The state-of-the-art facility is centrally situated near Mall of Africa in Waterfall, enjoying easy highway and Gautrain access, making it the ideal base for NAC’s Helicopter Training operation.
NAC Helicopter Training currently boasts over 40 students, a testament to its reputation for constantly pursuing excellence and offering its students nothing short of the best. Focused on truly individualised training and backed by 75 years of aviation experience, the helicopter training programme expertly guides students from their first thrilling hour of ab initio training through to the completion of their license.
Besides basic training, NAC also offers a wide range of additional helicopter ratings such as Instrument Rating, Instructors Rating, Conversion Training, Game Catch/Cull Ratings, External Load Rating and a wide selection of advanced pilot training, including mountain flying.
